ABOUT ANNE

Biopic.JPG

Anne began as a Genealogy hobbyist in the late 1990s just about the time Ancestry.com launched its website. She loves doing research. Anne began volunteering for the Brandon Library Genealogy Room in 2003 when there was no staff assigned. She was hired as Genealogy Librarian in 2006 and worked there till July of 2017 when she moved to North Carolina with her husband. Anne grew the genealogy room collection from less than 200 books and a few files to over 4000 books and files. In her 10 years, she has taught over 50 genealogy classes, conducted seminars and held genealogy and DNA clubs monthly at the library but what she enjoys most was working one on one.

Before, during and after the pandemic, Anne volunteered at the Concord Public Library in the Genealogy Room keeping her hand in discovering as many resources for research as possible. She enjoys visiting libraries and archives all over the country having spent many days researching in Washington, D.C. at the Library of Congress, National Archives and History, and the DAR. She has spent many hours researching at the Family History Library in Utah, the Georgia Archives, the Mississippi Archives and History, and the North Carolina State Library as well as many smaller libraries and archives in the southeast region. She now works privately for clients out of her home and now lead a Zoom group called “Genealogy 1st”. Look for her facebook page called Annes Genealogy Services.
